I am a litigator who started honing my trial skills in the area of criminal defense. This allowed me to gain abundant courtroom experience. My curiosity and my desire to help those who need access to the courts in diverse areas of litigation led me to pursue legal actions in the areas of law relating to personal injury, workers' compensation, commercial, probate, administrative, and real estate matters.

I believe that litigators, whenever possible, should expand both their service availability and effectiveness. Our courts are often inaccessible to good people who do not have the financial resources to hurdle the initial financial bar that is so often placed before them in order to get effective representation. Attorneys are often faced with the dilemma of having the desire to help a litigant while feeling that the financial reward justifying that help may not be easily apparent.

While our experience and training, when applied appropriately, should yield a good living, in some areas of litigation, it is up to the attorney to be creative in fashioning a win-win financial approach where both the attorney and client benefit and access to the legal system is expanded. It is too easy for those of us in a very competitive market to rely on conventional concepts of fee generation and forget that we are entrusted with a very fundamental service—playing our part in a system of justice.
